Pulsed Laser

The laser test is currently used as a complementary SEE test to determine the sensitive areas of a device, or as a pre-selection of heavy ion test candidates.

  • Laser Test advantages :
    • Convenient, fast and inexpensive.
    • Localization of all the sensitive structures.
    • Low cost SEE sensitive lot screening.

We have access to our partner’s facilities, the IXL at the University of Bordeaux and the CCR/EADS of Suresnes.

  • Laser characteristics :
    • Wavelenght : 800nm
    • Pulse width : 1ps - 100ps
    • Energy range : 3pJ - 500pJ
  • Laser Test Cartography :
    • Front or back side scanning of the decapsulated chip.
    • Recording of all events and their localization.
    • Color mapping of sensitive areas.

The Laser test is an efficient tool for the designers. It can help them improving their hardening process.
